Christmas thoughts for dog owners

My fellow Dog Lovers, here we are once again at the most wonderful time of year Christmas, when thoughts of giving, loving, eating & family are at the forefront of our minds. But I have something else that I want to talk about this year, helping our other Fur-Kids not only our family ones.

First off, I would like to share with you a very neat idea that the SPCA around the country is doing for Christmas to get help from you. Have your pet's picture taken with Santa for $ 10.00, all for a very worthy cause & you can send it in a Christmas Card to friends & family, or have it for a keep sake. I love it !! a definite 'WIN, WIN' situation. Check it out.

My other thoughts for you this Christmas, & I promise it is the last one, is the stopping of the cruelty & growth of the puppy farms!!! Please be aware that when you buy a puppy from a pet store, or from the Internet or newspaper that you may be buying from a puppy mill. If you want to go that route, please ask to see the parents of the puppy, or where your puppy was brought up before you buy to ensure that you are not promoting one of these farms, because by buying blind, you are very likely helping these horrible places grow, as they are doing right now !! This pet will be a family member so take the time to check everything out. If by chance you find one of these farms, please spread the word by using the avenues available on the Internet or by simply telling anyone who will listen so we can expose them for what they are!! We collectively must do all that we can to stop this cruelty to these wonderful animals!! And please for those out there that feel you are rescuing a puppy, you really aren't as you are putting more money in their hands to get bigger. There are many credible breeders out there that raise healthy happy puppies so we encourage you to do your homework.

Have a very safe and Happy Christmas & for the pets at home, careful of Xmas lights & electrical cords, also glass ornaments on low Christmas Tree branches, and of course no chocolates!! Give lots of Treats, Toys & Hugs!! & for our Senior kids, check out our web site www.dogquality.com for amazing ideas to help them be every bit a part of the family gatherings this year.

All the best,
Diane Fleming, Fashion Director
